ECOO E06 Will Be The First Handset With A Helio P10 SoC

ECOO is a Chinese smartphone OEM that you might, or might not have heard of by now. This company is actually backed by Elephone, a name you’ve probably seen in the news already. Anyhow, our source at the company has reached out recently and share rather interesting news regarding ECOO’s upcoming smartphone. It seems like the ECOO E06 might be the first smartphone in the world to sport MediaTek’s new Helio P10 (MT6755) processor. That is not all though, the ECOO E06 will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, will be made out of metal, and you can also expect to see a Type-C on the bottom fo the device. The rear-facing fingerprint scanner will also be a part of this package, and interesting enough, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this device.

Now, if you take a look at the two images down below, you’ll get to see parts of this device. The first image will let you see the upper front side of the phone, while the second one shows a device from the bottom, and also reveals that its speakers will be bottom-facing, and you can get a good look its metallic build as well. The phone’s rear-facing camera will protrude a bit it seems, and both its power / lock and volume rocker buttons will be located on the device’s right-hand side. We still don’t know how much will this smartphone cost once launched, unfortunately, but you can expect it to be quite affordable. ECOO will definitely add some software on top of Android, but aside from ECOO’s launcher and some additional software stuff, there won’t be much bloat.

You can expect to see MediaTek’s Helio P10 chip in quite a few smartphones next year. This is MediaTek’s new 64-bit mid-range processor which is supposed to replace the MT6752 and MT6753 chips. This is a 64-bit octa-core SoC which is clocked at 2GHz and has a dual-core Mali-T860 GPU for graphics. It remains to be seen how will it perform in real life though, but MT6752 and MT6753 were very solid offerings by MediaTek, so we’re hoping that the Helio P10 will be as well.
