Samsung has a number of Android sub-brands out in the market at the moment, and the ‘Galaxy A’ naming stands for Samsung’s mid-range line of devices. This Korea-based company has introduced a number of Galaxy A devices thus far, including the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7. Well, it seems like they’re about to release 2nd-gen devices soon considering we’ve seen all three of those handsets roaming around benchmarking sites, as well as all sorts of other listings. Speaking of which, the second-gen Galaxy A7 has just been certified in China, read on.
The Galaxy A7 was already listed on GFXBench and certified by Bluetooth SIG. Well, the phone has now been certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) as well, and thanks to that listing we now know the device’s specs. The Galaxy A7 (SM-A7100) will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). This handset is fueled by the Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel snapper can be found on the back of the device, and a 5-megapixel shooter is located up front. The 2,600mAh battery is also a part of this package, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI available on top of it. 4G LTE (Cat. 4) connectivity is also a part of this package, and the device weighs 155 grams. The Galaxy A7 is only 6.95mm thick, and as far as the design goes, it’s more or less obvious this is a Samsung-branded smartphone.
Now, keep in mind that the device is listed as ‘Golden’ over at TENAA, but this is definitely the Galaxy A7 we’re looking at, the model number, design and specifications fit perfectly to what we expected. Anyhow, the Galaxy A7, much like the Galaxy A3 and A5, is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. These three devices have leaked a number of times thus far, and it is to be expected Samsung will unveil all of them soon enough.
