HTC One X9 Images & Specifications Leaked On TENAA

The HTC One X9 has apparently passed through Chinese telecommunication regulator TENAA, meaning, the device has been listed on the organization’s website, giving us a look at some of the hardware features of the handset, along with of course, an image or two. The device has been rumored often in recent weeks, but contradictory rumors had ensured that we were still unsure about the exact specs of the upcoming device from the Taiwanese company. According to the listing on the official website of the Chinese regulator, the handset will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display panel, and will have a MediaTek chipset under the hood. While the exact SoC remains a mystery as of now, the listing does say that the CPU will be of the octa-core variety, and will be clocked at a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz.

Now while some rumors have suggested the Helio X10 will be powering the One X9, others had claimed that the upcoming Helio X20 will be doing the duties on the One X9 from HTC. While there’s no way to say anything for certain as of now, if TENAA is to be believed about the octa-core CPU bit, it can only possibly be the Helio X10, seeing as the Helio X20 will feature a deca-core application processor. Two out of three versions of the Helio X10 also happen to be clocked at 2.2 GHz, while the base version of the chipset comes with a maximum CPU clock speed of 2.2 GHz. So while nothing’s guaranteed, it looks as though Helio X10 may be a frontrunner as of now, if the TENAA listing holds any water whatsoever.

As for the rest of the hardware specs, the One X9 is believed to carry 2 GB of RAM and only 16 GB of built-in storage, which can, however, be expanded by way of a microSD card. The device is also expected to sport a metal body, and come with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box. As per the listing, imaging options on the upcoming smartphone will include a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel selfie-cam on the front. The images posted on TENAA also indicate the presence of front-firing speakers, along with a raised housing for the rear camera. The device will have dimensions of 153.2 — 75.9 — 7.99 mm and support both TD-LTE and LTE-FDD as per the listing.
