Huawei has been really successful in 2015. This China-based smartphone OEM is currently the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Their profits have risen quite a bit compared to last year, and the company has introduced a number of compelling devices this year, including the Nexus 6P. That being said, after Huawei announced the Mate S smartphone at IFA, we were wondering if the Mate 8 phablet will be launched at all. Huawei’s CEO has confirmed recently that the Mate 8 will launch soon, and not long after that the company has teased its announcement for November 26th.
It is worth mentioning that the Mate 8 has surfaced on AnTuTu yesterday and managed to score 89,630 point, which is quite a staggering results. The Mate 8 will almost certainly going to be powered by Huawei’s recently unveiled Kirin 950 SoC, and it seems like it will be a really interesting phablet. That being said, the Mate 8 has been certified in China quite recently as well. The listing has popped up at China’s 3C Quality Certification Center, and three versions of the device were mentioned, the NXT-AL10, NXT-CL00 and NXT-TL00. It seems like these are the three variants of the Mate 8 which will launch on China’s biggest carriers, China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile.
This listing didn’t reveal all that much spec info, but it did mention fast charging capability of the upcoming Mate 8 phablet. It seems like the device will support 5V/2A (10W) or 9V/2A (18W) charging. According to previous leaks, the Mate 8 will sport a 5.7 or 6-inch display with a 1080p or QHD resolution, while it will also pack 4GB of RAM (the 3GB model is also a possibility). Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 950 octa-core SoC will be available on the inside, and a 21-megapixel rear-facing shooter was also mentioned in several leaks by now. Force Touch display is also a possibility, especially considering Huawei has already announced a Force Touch variant of their Mate S smartphone. The Mate 8 will be made out of metal, as was its predecessor, and it will ship in 32 or 64GB internal storage variants, while the 128GB model will probably also going to be available. The Huawei Mate 8 will be announced on November 26th, stay tuned.
