Micromax Canvas 5 Announced With 3GB Of RAM & A 1080p Panel

Micromax is India’s number one smartphone manufacturer. This company releases quite a few smartphone every year, but those are mainly low and mid-range devices considering those sell extremely well in India. Well, the company has decided to release a somewhat more powerful device this time around, the Canvas 5. This smartphone isn’t exactly high-end, but its specifications are more than solid. Anyhow, let’s see what this smartphone has to offer, shall we.

The Micromax Canvas 5 sports a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080, 424ppi) IPS fully laminated 2.5D curved display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 on top of it. The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with a Mali-T720 GPU for graphics which runs on 450MHz. This smartphone packs in 3GB of DDR3 RAM, and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD card). This is also a dual-SIM phone which offers 4G TLE connectivity, and a 2,900mAh battery (up to 10 hours of talk time, 275 hours of standby) is available on the inside. The 13-megapixel shooter (Samsung’s 3M2 sensor, PDAF) is located on the back of the device along with an LED flash. On the front side of this smartphone you’ll find a 5-megapixel camera, and an LED flash is available next to it. The phone measures 148 x 73.6 x 8.5mm, while it weighs 143 grams.

This smartphone is available in Space Grey and Tan Brown color options, while it is priced at Rs. 11,999 ($183). The device will be available across the country starting today, while it also ships with double data offer for Airtel 4G customers (for 3 months), and a 7-day door step service policy.
