After tons of rumors and leaks, Xiaomi has unveiled their Redmi Note 2 mid-ranger back in August. That handset is very affordable and ships with a really solid set of specs. The Redmi Note 2 is made out of polycarbonate (plastic), and it seems like Xiaomi plans to release a metal variant of this smartphone. The Redmi Note 2 Pro has leaked quite a few times thus far, we’ve seen its leaked specs, as well as its back cover. Well, a new leak has popped up in China recently, read on.
The back cover of this smartphone has once again surfaced, and it goes hand-in-hand with what we’ve seen thus far (1st image in the gallery). All of the leaks that have popped up have actually matched each other, so it’s safe to assume that this will be the look of the Redmi Note 2 Pro’s back cover in the end. As you can see, there’s a camera cutout up top, with the LED flash and fingerprint cutouts located below it. On the bottom of this back cover you’ll notice Xiaomi’s logo which is imprinted into the case. The second image in the gallery resembles the Redmi Note 2 Pro, but sports a boxy design and has a different cutouts on the back. The third image is different than the first two completely, and all of them belong to Xiaomi-branded devices, allegedly. Is it possible that we’re looking at a Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus back covers here? Well, that’s only a wild guess, who knows.
The Redmi Note 2 Pro will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 2 or 3GB of RAM (2 variants) and 16 or 32GB of internal storage. The 2GB RAM model will ship with 16GB of internal storage, while the 3GB RAM phone will come with 32GB of native storage. The Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core SoC is said to fuel this smartphone, and the 13-megapixel snapper will be available on the back. The 5-megapixel shooter will probably be available up front, and Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 Android-based OS will come pre-installed here. The 2GB RAM model is said to cost 1,099 Yuan ($173), while the 3GB RAM variant will be priced at 1,499 Yuan ($236) according to leaks. That’s pretty much it, we still don’t know when will Xiaomi announce this phone, but we’ll keep you in the loop.
