Revols Wants To Give You A Custom-Fit Listening Experience

Finding a good pair of headphones or earbuds can be a downright daunting experience, especially when you aren’t sure where to start looking. Another problem can be the actual fit of those earbuds as many pairs can simply become uncomfortable after extended periods of use, and this is likely due to a generic fit as opposed to a custom fit designed specifically for your ears. Revols aims to tackle that with their new pair of Revols earbuds, a project they have just begun on Kickstarter. The difference between these and a pair of earbuds you might find elsewhere are that these are designed to custom mold themselves to your ears after wearing them for the first time.

The Revols earbuds are Bluetooth so you can stay connected to your device wirelessly, and the gel-filled eartips fit comfortably in your ears the first time you wear them and conform to the unique fit of your ears. Once the fitting process is finished which shouldn’t very long at all, you can use the connected companion app for the Revols to initiate the hardening process and in less than a minute the formed gel turns into a permanently hardened state. From here on out the earbuds are custom-molded and should provide a much more comfortable wear any time you want to listen to music or any other audio.

Another issue with earbuds, if you have a Bluetooth wireless pair, is battery life. Revols has an answer for this too. Although the earbuds alone with their built-in battery can provide up to 8 hours of battery life, users can extend that up to 14 hours total with a small battery pack called the Revive, that simply clips onto the back of the cord for your earbuds and charges the battery with inductive charging connectors. Revols also offers two sizes of eartips both which can be custom molded to your ear or one for another person if you want to share, and there are various options for different colored sport skins to attach to the outside for more protection and a personalized look. The Revols also feature a rotating bezel so the earbuds can be worn with the wire either hanging down or hooked around the back of your ear depending on your personal taste. The early bird price on these starts at $169 with a retail cost expected to be $300, and units are expected to ship to backers starting in June of 2016.
