Sony has announced three Xperia Z5 devices during IFA in Berlin back in September. This Japan-based company has unveiled the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium devices. The Z5 Compact is a premium built, mid-range smartphone, while the other two devices are considered to be Sony’s new flagship offerings. The Xperia Z5 Premium is the highest-end one out of the bunch, it sports the same specs as the Xperia Z5, except for the display. This is the first smartphone in the world to sport a 4K display, which is, of course, very interesting.
That being said, the Xperia Z5 Premium has been announced a while ago, but its availability is fairly limited at the moment. Well, we have good news for those of you who live in the UK and want to purchase one of these. The Xperia Z5 Premium is now available from giffgaff in the UK, though keep in mind, it’s quite pricey, which was to be expected. Anyhow, you can purchase the Xperia Z5 Premium for £599 from giffgaff up front, or you can pay £26.29 a month. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium features a 5.5-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) IPS LCD display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC along with an Adreno 430 GPU for graphics. The 23-megapixel shooter is available on the back of the device along with a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 5.1-megapixel camera is located on the front side of this device, and a 3,430mAh non-removable battery can be found on the inside of this device. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Sony’s custom UI being available on top of it. The phone measures 154.4 x 75.8 x 7.8mm, while it weighs 180 grams, which doesn’t exactly make it one of the lightest phones around, but that’s something we’re used to seeing from Xperia-branded flagships.
