Third party keyboards are a must have application download for many people, as often times the standard default keyboards can leave a little bit to be desired. One such keyboard app that has been around for quite some time is Swiftkey, delighting the users who took a chance and decided to test out what it has to offer. For those who are already fans of or are considering giving Swiftkey a shot, the experience is likely now going to be even better as Swiftkey have pushed out their 6.0 update which brings in new theme designs and a handful of improvements, as well as a couple new additions to the app.
If you like Swiftkey for the customization aspect, the new themes will potentially be your favorite new addition to the app. There are a collection of 34 new themes that have been added to the overall pool of available themes to give your keyboard a completely unique look, so there are quite a few to choose from. Another new addition is the double word prediction feature which beta users have been enjoying for a little while now. The name of the feature pretty much explains it all, Swiftkey can now simultaneously predict the next two words you’re planning on typing up, so there’s ultimately even less you have to type to complete your sentence.
Aside from the new features, Swiftkey now supports five more languages including Breton, Zulu, Xhosa, Igbo and Yoruba which Swiftkey says are easier to access along with the other languages from an improved settings menu. Other improvements address the cursor and text duplication issues that users were having when browsing in Chrome or other apps that used webview, and Swiftkey states that the cursor will no longer jump around. If you’re someone who likes to express themselves with smiley faces and frowns to depict your mood, the emoji panel has been redesigned and is now faster to access and use as well. Swiftkey has also made it so that words which were randomly capitalized aren’t added into your language model for saved words, and they have disabled the dashlane autfill option. If you want to give Swiftkey 6.0 a try, you can grab the app from the Play Store as the update should now be live.
