SwiftKey Updated With UI Changes & Double Word Prediction

When it comes to apps, it does seem that certain apps receive much greater levels of support than others. SwiftKey is a perfect example of such an app, as this is one app which gets updates very regularly with an abundance of new features on offer. For instance, it was only a couple of weeks ago when the company announced the introduction of a couple of new ‘Ninja themes‘. Now, these are not your normal themes and instead make use of a blacked out keyboard and a decidedly more difficult task to use. Designed to test their users to see how well you can type without the inclusion of outlines or even letters.

While that update might seem more fun than functional, although, only a few weeks before, SwiftKey had announced the release of a more ‘neural network‘ variant of their keyboard app which was designed to offer even more intelligent and faster levels of word recognition. Now, it seems another update is in the process of rolling out to users and this one brings with it a number of new features and upgrades.

The most useful of which seems to be the ability for the predictive element of the keyboard to now anticipate double-words. In short, your next two words. Saving on both time and effort. However, that is not the biggest visual change on offer as as the settings UI has also seen a major design departure from the previous look and feel. Not to mention, the emoji panel has also been redesigned, there are a number of new languages supported and a new Carbon Light theme which has now been introduced. For those who may have noticed a few bugs or issues on the previous version, there also seems to be number of bug fixes included in this update too. Like for instance, a more consistent level of ‘swipe to delete’ on Samsung devices. The update is currently in the process of rolling out and therefore, some users will already have seen the update land on their device, while other may still be waiting. If you are still waiting, then you can of course, pull the update form the link below and sideload manually.
