Verizon's Ellipsis 10 Now Available At $299 Off-Contract

The largest wireless carrier in the US, Verizon Wireless, has let it be known that it has made a new addition to its growing portfolio of Android tablets, by including a new device called the Ellipsis 10, which is a 10.1-inch tablet that comes with LTE connectivity. The tablet has already seen a number of leaks over the past month, including leaked press shots of the then-unannounced tablet posted by leaker extraordinaire Mr. Evan Blass a.k.a @evleaks on Twitter. The carrier already offers the Ellipsis 8 tablet, which got its first taste of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop through an OTA update earlier this month.

Verizon is offering multiple pricing options for the latest addition to its range of Android tablets. While the off-contract, full retail price for the device is $299 at the carrier, buyers interested in signing up for a traditional two-year contract can have the tablet at much lower prices, as expected. With a two-year contract, ‘qualified customers’ can get their hands on the gadget for zero down, by paying off for the device at $12.49 per month. For customers who do not qualify for the zero down payment offer, Verizon is still shaving off $100 off of the full retail price of the device, thereby making it available at $199.

Coming to a quick recap of the hardware specs of the Ellipsis 10, the device comes with a 10.1-inch IPS TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels according to the product listing page on Verizon’s official website. While there’s no mention of the amount of available RAM, the built-in storage will be limited to only 16 GB as per the listing, although the device comes with a microSD card slot that will support capacity expansion by way of a microSD card of up to 32 GB in capacity. The listing on Verizon’s website also reveals the presence of a huge 9,100 mAh non-removable battery within the tablet, along with support for the carrier’s LTE bands 2, 4 and 13. As for the processor powering the device, while Verizon does not specify the exact chipset, the CPU is said to be of the quad-core variety, clocked at a frequency of 1.5 GHz.
