64GB Mi Pad 2 Model Released And Sold Out In One Minute

Xiaomi has announced two tablets thus far, and their latest offering was announced last month. The company has introduced their second-gen Mi Pad tablet along with the Redmi Note 3 handset during an event in China. Now, the Mi Pad 2 is a worthy successor to the original, it’s made out of metal, and it sports really compelling specifications, especially considering how affordable it is. That being said, it seems like the Mi Pad 2 is in high demand in its homeland, read on.

Two variants of this tablet have been announced, the one sporting 16GB of internal storage, and the one with 64GB of storage. Well, only the 16GB variant was available, until today. The company has released the 64GB model of the tablet in China, and unsurprisingly, the device was sold out shortly after it was released. Xiaomi has sold out everything they’ve got in only a minute, but we don’t know how many units Xiaomi offered to begin with. The company usually doesn’t’ have all that many units available, and if we manage to find out how many tablets they sold, we’ll report back for sure. It is also worth mentioning that the 16GB model of this tablet costs 999 Yuan ($153) in China, while the newly-released 64GB variant is priced at 1,299 Yuan ($200).

The Mi Pad 2 sports a 7.9-inch 2048 x 1536 IPS LCD display along with 2GB of RAM and 16/64GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by Intel’s Atom X5-Z8500 quad-core SoC clocked at 2.24GHz which ships with Intel’s HD Graphics. The 8-megapixel snapper can be found on the back of this tablet, and a 5-megapixel shooter is available up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 OS available on top of Google’s OS. The 6,190mAh battery is also a part of this package, and the tablet itself comes in Dark Grey and Champagne Gold color options. The Mi Pad 2 measures 200.4 x 132.6 x 7mm, while it weighs 322 grams. This tablet sports three capacitive buttons below the display, menu, home and back buttons, while both its power / lock and volume rocker buttons are placed on the right.
