Acer's Smartband Is A Hit On The Home Shopping Network

As wearables become more popular in the mainstream consumer market, more and more companies that already have footholds in mobile products and technology are going to start offering their own products in this category. Acer, a company who already has a range of smartphones and tablets available, has launched their Liquid Leap smartband earlier this year. It comes in a collection of different colors and offers your standard fitness tracker features like tracking steps and showing caloric burn. When it comes to fitness trackers, Fitbit’s products are usually the most popular, but a recent offering on the Home Shopping Network displays that Acer‘s Liquid Leap has been a popular choice for consumers.

Back on December 13th, the Home Shopping Network featured a deal on Acer’s Liquid Leap smartband for just $99. This may seem like a mild deal as there are many fitness trackers available at this cost, but the Liquid Leap is normally not available in the U.S., and for the price of $99 HSN was actually offering customers the chance to grab two Liquid Leap smartbands. This included one black band and one color model of which customers had the choice to choose. This is where the deal came in, as this was less than half the cost of what it would be to normally pick up two of these trackers. What’s more, is that customers could opt to pick up a single Liquid Leap in black and instead of the second model in their choice of color, they could choose to get three interchangeable bands in a different color, giving them a total of 4 band colors to swap out.

This deal proved to be so popular that HSN ended up selling out completely of all their stock, of which was totaled at a whopping 70,000 units of the Liquid Leap. Aside from being able to track your steps, calories burned, and monitor your sleep patterns, the Liquid Leap can also be used as a silent alarm for waking you up, and it can track your distance traveled all while staying charged for up to a week. It’s also IPX7 certified meaning it’s waterproof so there’s no worry if it gets wet. Naturally, it can also alert you to call and message notifications like most other trackers too, and you can interact with its many features via the OLED touchscreen.
