ZTE has released two really interesting lines of smartphones this year. The company has released a couple of handsets as part of their ‘Nubia Z9’ flagship line, including the bezel-less Nubia Z9 handset. That’s not all though, ZTE has also introduced a completely new ‘Axon‘ line of devices, and they’ve announced quite a few ‘Axon’ devices thus far. Well, a new such handset will be announced on Friday if the latest report is to be believed. Let’s see what’s going on, shall we.
The ZTE Axon Max has been shown off at China Mobile Worldwide Partner Conference earlier today. This handset hasn’t been announced by ZTE just yet, but according to the info coming from China, it will be in a couple of days. Thanks to the hands-on images and info from China, we now know not only what will this handset look like, but its specifications as well. The ZTE Axon Max will feature a 6-inch AMOLED display (fullHD quite probably) along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). This phablet will be fueled by the Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 4,140mAh battery will be available on the inside (hence the ‘Max’ naming). The 13-megapixel shooter (f/1.9 aperture) will be located on the back of this phablet, and you’ll be able to find two SIM card slots here as well. The device will offer Hi-Fi audio functions its siblings sport, and 4G LTE connectivity will also be present here. Android 5.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed here with ZTE’s MiFavor 3.5 UI available on top of it. The fingerprint scanner will also be included here, and will be located on the back of the Axon Max.
That is it as far as specs go, we’ll fill in the blanks once ZTE announces this handset. Now, as far as its design goes, the Axon Max is somewhat different than other Axon devices from the front side, but as soon as you flip it over everything becomes clear. The ZTE Axon Max will sport two sets of physical home buttons, power / lock button and a volume rocker, all of which are located on the phone’s right-hand side. That is pretty much it, the Axon Max will be made out of metal, and will be announced on Friday (almost certainly), so stay tuned for that.
