OnePlus has announced two variants of their OnePlus X device this year, the regular Onyx one, and the special Ceramic Edition variant. Well, the Ceramic Edition of the device wasn’t available in that many markets thus far (India and the US), but OnePlus has hinted recently that it will become available elsewhere today, and that’s exactly what happened. The company has announced the availability of the Ceramic variant of OnePlus X for Europe today, read on.
The OnePlus X Ceramic Edition is made out of zirconia ceramic. Now, this phone isn’t all that easy to make, because of the aforementioned material, it takes OnePlus 25 days to make one such device, so the company has decided to manufacture only 10,000 units. This handset is actually priced at Rs. 16,999 in India, and the device is now finally available in Europe, as already mentioned. The device can be purchased through the official OnePlus store, but keep in mind that you’ll need an invite in order to buy it. The device is available in several European countries, and it costs 269 Euros. Now, there is a special invite you’ll need in order to purchase this variant of the OnePlus X, regular OnePlus invites won’t do you any good. If you’d like to obtain an invite, you can enter OnePlus’ Instagram contest where the company is actually giving away 20 such invites. The company will soon start sending invites via e-mail as well, at least it seems that way.
Other than the fact this variant of the device uses different build materials, it’s pretty much identical to the regular model. The OnePlus X features a 5-inch 1080 (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, while an Adreno 330 GPU is here for graphics rendering. The 13-megapixel shooter (PDAF) can be found on the back of this smartphone, while an 8-megapixel snapper is available up front. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with OnePlus’ Oxygen OS which is installed on top of Google’s OS.
