Companion App for Misfit Flash Cyclist Edition now Available

Misfit has a few fitness trackers available, and all of them are pretty cheap. Now Misfit may not be as popular as say, Fitbit or even Jawbone. But they make some great stuff. And a few of their trackers are as low as $15. Recently, the company came out with a new version of the Misfit Flash fitness tracker, and this one is for cyclists, hence the name. And now the companion app has arrived on the Google Play Store. It’s a free app, you’ll just need to pick up the Misfit Flash Cyclist Edition.

The Misfit Cycling app is here, and it’s set to work as a standalone app. So users can use it as a workout tracker. It also provides GPS in real time, so you can see where you cycled to and what route you took. The Misfit Cycling app is meant for just tracking your cycling. So if you are looking for general activity tracking, you’ll still want to use the regular Misfit app to check your steps, distance, calories burned and such. Misfit Cycling can also send the cycling data to a few other apps, like the MapMyRide app which (as the name suggests) maps your bike ride using GPS.

In addition to tracking where you are riding, the Misfit Cycling app can track the calories you’ve burned, as well as how fast you are going and your pace per mile or kilometer (depending on where in the world you are). Additionally, you can also go back into history and check to see how your previous rides compare to your current one, or see what your personal record is.

It’s a pretty simple app, and one that works pretty well, at least so far. It’s available now on the Google Play Store. It works with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and higher, so most everyone should be able to use it without any issues. While Misfit didn’t quite go the material design route here, the app is a pretty good looking app and tracks everything you’d want to know about your ride, each time you go out and ride.
