Elephone has been working on some really exciting products this year. After releasing the P7000 and P8000 handsets, both of which are quite capable, the company has announced their high-end Vowney smartphone. That’s not all though, three Elephone P9000-branded devices are on their way, one of which will sport no bezel on the sides. The company is also going to release an Android Wear-powered ELE Watch in the coming weeks, an affordable smartwatch made out of metal, which should increase competition in the Android Wear smartwatch market.
That being said, Elephone has actually announced yet another smartphone recently, the Elephone Ivory. This affordable handset is now listed on the company’s website, and it’s actually quite interesting because not only does it sport a very solid set of specs, but it costs only $99. The Elephone Ivory features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This device is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, along with a Mali-T720 GPU for graphics. The 2,800mAh battery is available on the inside, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with some additions by Elephone. The company says that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be available for this handset soon enough. The 13-megapixel shooter is located on the back of the device, and a 2-megapixel snapper can be found up front.
This smartphone does offer 4G TLE connectivity, it currently supports FDD-LTE 1/3/7/20 (2100/1800/2600/800) bands, but the model supporting 2/4/7/17 (1900/1700/2600/700) bands will be available soon as well. There are two SIM card slots on the inside of this phone, and as you can see in the provided images down below, the device sports three capacitive buttons below the display. Both its power / lock and volume rocker buttons are located on its right-hand side, and the loudspeaker is placed in the lower right corner of the phone’s back. The Elephone Ivory will be available in the Gray color option only, at least for now. As already mentioned, this smartphone costs only $99 and it will be available for purchase soon from a number of Chinese resellers, in case you’re interested, of course.
