Huawei has been the most successful China-based smartphone OEM this year. This company has not only been able to sell over 100 million devices this year, but they’ve also managed to become the world’s third largest smartphone manufacturer. Huawei has released a number of really compelling devices this year, including quite a few smartphones. The Mate S and Mate 8 are quite probably their most notable smartphone releases, while the Android Wear-powered Huawei Watch is also worth mentioning, many people consider this to be the most beautiful smartwatch to date.
That being said, Huawei has unveiled their new flagship, the Mate 8 phablet, last month. We’ve talked about this device at length, and now we’ve been able to track down its first teardown, read on. Now, the source claims that Huawei Mate 8 certainly is an improvement over the Mate 7 as far as its build goes, and the device wasn’t all that difficult to pull apart despite the fact it sports a unibody metal design. As you can see, this is the China Mobile (Chinese carrier) variant of the device. The Huawei Mate 8 features a 6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS-NEO LCD display along with 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64/128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card) This handset is powered by Huawei’s all-new Kirin 950 SoC, which is the most powerful processor currently available, at least according to benchmarks. This SoC also ships with a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU for graphics, and a 4,000mAh battery is also a part of the Mate 8 package. The 16-megapixel OIS camera (PDAF included) is placed on the back of this phablet along with a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 8-megapixel shooter can be found up front, and the phone also offer dual-SIM connectivity. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes out of the box here along with Huawei’s Emotion UI 4.0, which is installed on top of it. This phablet measures 157.1 x 80.6 x 7.9mm, while it weighs 185 grams.
