Moto 360 (2015) Announced In India, Available Starting Today

A number of smartphone manufacturers have decided to release their smartwatch offerings this year, and quite a few of those smartwatches are powered by Android Wear. Motorola’s Moto 360 smartwatch is definitely one of the most popular Android Wear-powered smartwatches, and the company has released their 2nd-gen Moto 360 smartwatch back in September during IFA in Berlin. The Moto 360 (2nd-gen) is a significant improvement over its predecessor, and the company has decided to unveil this watch in India as well, read on.

Motorola has announced that their latest smartwatch will be announced in India today, and that’s exactly what happened. The Lenovo-owned company has unveiled this smartwatch during their press conference in India quite recently, and it will be available soon. The Moto 360 (2nd) comes in 42mm and 46mm (diameter) variants, and the watch is made out of metal (aircraft-grade 316L stainless steel). The smaller variant of this smartwatch sports a 1.37-inch display (360 x 325), while the bigger one features a 1.56-inch panel (360 x 330). The smaller device packs in a 300mAh battery on the inside, while the bigger variant comes with a 400mAh unit. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 quad-core SoC fuels this smartwatch along with an Adreno 305 GPU for graphics. 512MB of RAM is also included here, and same can be said about 4GB of internal storage.

The Moto 360 (2nd-gen) is a significant improvement over its predecessor mainly because of the SoC which you can find on the inside, the aforementioned Snapdragon 400. The 1st-gen Moto 360 smartwatch was powered by an old TI OMAP processor, which had a negative impact on both the watch’s performance and battery life. Anyhow, it is also worth mentioning that the Moto 360 (2nd-gen) comes equipped with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, optical heart rate monitor and a gyroscope. The smaller variant of this smartwatch (gold and leather band versions) are priced at Rs. 22,999 in China, while the 46mm model (metal band variant) costs Rs. 23,999. The two watches will be available exclusively from Flipkart and Myntra in India starting today from 7:30 PM (local time).
