OnePlus 2 OxygenOS 2.2.0 Update Now Rolling Out

Earlier today, OnePlus released a post detailing the current update status for their three devices, the OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus X. While the post did not go into too much detail on when Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) would arrive (simply noting that more information on this will come through in the New Year), it did detail a couple of new incremental updates which would be on the way. One of which is for their current flagship device, the OnePlus 2.

Now the company has released a follow-up post in their forums which details that the OnePlus 2 update has now begun OTA and also provides some more details on what should be expected with the latest update. This is an update rolling out for OxygenOS and will bring devices up to version 2.2.0. In terms of the changes, the update will include a fix for “dual SIM preference selection issues in settings“, as well as a fix for “Google Camera photo-sphere and panorama bugs“. In terms of what’s new, the update adds NTFS and exFAT support for OTG usage and also adds a hide search bar option within the launcher settings. The changelog also notes that screen the quick settings will also now include the ability to adjust the screen temperature.

Of course, with this being an update, you can also expect various bug fixes, performance upgrades and a number of security patches. While the changelog also notes some new Holiday wallpapers have been included too. As is the case with most manufacturers, this is a staggered rolling out and therefore some OnePlus 2 owners might already be seeing the update land on their devices, while others might have to wait a couple of days before it does finally arrive. Either way, if you are interested in reading more about the update, you can by heading through the source link below and over to the OnePlus forum posting.
