Pretty much like last week’s rumors indicated, the premium tablet designed entirely by Google called Pixel C became available yesterday, December 8th. Despite the rumors coming from the Netherlands, it was quite certain that the tablet would be available in many regions around this date as Google mentioned in the official announcement that it would be ready for the holiday season. The Pixel C is the first tablet on the Pixel series, which includes Chromebooks built with premium materials and very good specs, so the new tablet and its anodized aluminum build fit right in. The specs of the tablet are also among the most powerful ones found on any tablet running the Android operating system.
Now, the Pixel C is available in the UK as well and it can be bought directly from the Google Store in that region. The prices start at £399 for the model that includes 32 GB of internal storage and the 64 GB model is priced at £479. Another interesting aspect of this tablet is the optional Bluetooth keyboard cover, as it features full-sized keys and it includes an adjustable stand providing various viewing angles to type more comfortably. It attaches to the tablet magnetically and it’s able to take power from the tablet, so you don’t need to charge it separately. There are two versions of the keyboard, a regular one, and the folio keyboard with a leather finish, both of which are priced at £119. The tablet in its two variants will ship within 1 or 2 business days and delivery costs are free.
To recall some of the specs of the Pixel C, there’s a 10.2-inch display with the high resolution of 2560 x 1800 pixels resulting in a density of 308 ppi. Powering up the tablet is a powerful NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor with Maxwell GPU and 3 GB of RAM which should provide a solid multitasking experience. The cameras on this tablet are an 8-megapixel one on the back and a 2-megapixel one at the front. Since it’s running with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, it includes a USB Type-C port to charge its 6,840 mAh battery and transfer data.
