Samsung Galaxy S7 is one of the most anticipated devices of 2016, and the year hasn’t even started yet. The company has announced two Galaxy S6 smartphones this year, and considering the fact that Samsung made some significant improvements this time around, the expectations are really high for the Galaxy S7 (and the eventual S7 Edge) handset. We’ve been seeing rumors when it comes to this handset for quite some time now, some of which have reported that the device might even launch sooner this time around, but chances are Samsung will release it in February or March, as usual.
That being said, it seems like a new Galaxy S7 benchmark has leaked. I don’t know if you recall, but one such benchmark surfaced about a week ago in China, though that one showed the Exynos 8890-powered Galaxy S7, we’re here to talk about the Snapdragon 820-fueled variant. Anyhow, it seems like the Galaxy S7 surfaced on Geekbench, though this information isn’t coming directly from the Geekbench website, but from a China-based tipster. The benchmarked device has allegedly managed to score 2,456 points in a single-core, and 5,423 points in a multi-core test, which are great results, if true, of course.
We’ve seen all sorts of crazy rumors when it comes to Samsung’s upcoming flagship, as it’s the case every year. Despite all those out-of-the-box rumors, some normal ones popped up as well. According to that info, not much will change next year, the Galaxy S7 will reportedly be quite similar to its predecessor in terms of the design. The handset will, of course, get a spec bump, and we might see a Force Touch technology implemented on the inside. It remains to be seen if Samsung intends to release the ‘Edge’ variant as well, but considering how popular the Galaxy S6 Edge was, that is kind of a given at this point.
