Since the launch date for the new flagship phones from Samsung is approaching, we are getting all kinds of leaks and rumors about the Galaxy S7 lineup. We have already seen some leaked renders which suggest that the design of the phones will closely resemble the one of the Galaxy S6 series featuring glass on the front and back with a metallic frame in the middle. The Galaxy S7 lineup was supposed to be integrated by four phones, two Galaxy S7 with a differently sized flat screen and two curved screen Galaxy S7 Edge variants with different size options. A few hours ago, it was reported that this might not be the case and the Galaxy S7 would only come in one screen size.
Android Authority has reported that Shai Mizrachi, who provided a leaked render for the Galaxy S6 Edge which turned out to be quite accurate, has now leaked a diagram for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge so we can know more about the dimensions of each phone and other specifications. The Galaxy S7 will apparently have the same measurements as the Galaxy S6, so we’re looking at a 143 x 70.5 mm phone. Although the exact measurement for its thickness is not shown in the image, the two phones look just as thick and the camera bump on the Galaxy S7 looks a little smaller. The Galaxy S7 is said to include a 5.2-inch display, so the bezels should be narrower than the ones from this year’s flagship.
The Galaxy S7 Edge will supposedly include a larger 5.5-inch display (so there probably won’t be a larger model) and it will measure 151 x 73 mm, and once again, the thickness looks very similar to the one from the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S6. What’s interesting about the picture is that apparently both phones will feature a curved back, much like the one on the Galaxy Note 5. The sides of the Galaxy S7 Edge look quite sharp, which might make it a little uncomfortable to hold, and it has been said that this design is the reason why it won’t integrate a Micro SD card slot. There’s only what looks like a secondary microphone on the top of the new phones, so they probably won’t feature an IR-blaster. Even though the image seems to confirm some of the new information, we should take it with a pinch of salt.
