Xiaomi Improves 'Pick Mi' Doorstep Service In India

Xiaomi is, next to Huawei, the largest smartphone OEM in China. This company grew immensely in the last couple of years, and it will surely going to be interesting to see what happens next. That being said, Xiaomi is not only a smartphone manufacturer, not even close. This company actually tends to dabble in a lot of tech-related stuff, including various hardware products, services and even software. With that in mind, you might recall that Xiaomi launched ‘Pick Mi’ doorstep pick up and drop service in India back on October 8th. So, what is ‘Pick Mi’? Well, it’s exactly what you think, the company basically provides doorstep pick up and service for their products for only Rs. 189 (tax included).

Well, the company has actually decided to add more options to this service. You can now give a ‘missed call’ to 7676404444 in order to book the service, you don’t even have to talk to anyone anymore. Now, the service can also be booked by calling the toll free number (1800 103 6286), and you can pay for the provided services either with cash on delivery (COD) or online, whichever you prefer. As far as availability goes, this service is available in 597 cities in India, 29 states and 4 union territories. ”We have always focused on meeting the needs of our customers and providing them with the best user experience. With Pick Mi, we are trying to revamp the service model in India and bringing the convenience of e-commerce (doorstep delivery) to the service industry. We have seen positive results for Pick Mi. A large number of people are already using the service regularly in the pilot cities of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, and we receive a few hundred calls every single day,” said Manu Jain, Head of Mi India.

This service has been around for a while now, but we still don’t have any specific info on how successful it is. We’re presuming that many consumers are using Xiaomi’s service considering how widespread it is, and it seems like Xiaomi is trying to further improve it. Now, the Pick Mi doorstep service does offer a layer of convenience to the mix, and I’m sure that many of you would like for something like this to be available in your country as well. Xiaomi did not share any future Pick Mi plans at this time, but the service might become available in more regions in 2016.
