Xiaomi Mi 5 Listed On OppoMart, Specs Included

The Xiaomi Mi 5 has been leaking for months now. A lot of people were expecting this device to be announced back in July, but Xiaomi has opted to wait for the Snapdragon 820 SoC to become available, or so it seems. The Snapdragon 820 will be available to manufacturers starting in January, and according to the latest info, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be announced on January 21st. Keep in mind that none of this info is confirmed at the moment, but we do know that the Mi 5 is coming soon, considering the fact Xiaomi’s CEO confirmed that a while back. That being said, we’ve seen many Mi 5 spec leaks thus far, and interesting enough, OppoMart (an online retailer) has just listed the device, read on.

A well-known online retailer has revealed Xiaomi Mi 5’s specs, presuming these are accurate, of course. According to OppoMart, the Mi 5 will sport a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display with 515ppi. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.5GHz will fuel this handset, and a 3,800mAh battery will be available on the inside. The 20-megapixel shooter will be available on the back of this smartphone, and an 8-megapixel shooter will be located up front. In addition to all this, the phone will pack in 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM along with 16/64/128GB of internal storage. The device will offer support for global 4G FDD-LTE bands, and the phone is listed on OppoMart for $599.99. The device is, of course, still not available for purchase, as OppoMart’s listing says it’s ‘out of stock’.

Now, the listing says that Snapdragon 820 SoC sport 8 cores, which is wrong, the processor actually comes with four cores. With mistakes like this, it’s somewhat hard to take this listing seriously, but these are, more or less, rumored specs, so… it could actually be somewhat accurate. The Mi 5 is also rumored to sport a physical home button below the display which will double as a fingerprint scanner. The phone will almost certainly going to be made out of metal, and you can expect Android Lollipop or Marshmallow pre-installed here with Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 OS available on top of it.
