Samsung Galaxy S7 rumors and leaks are popping up all over the internet. The same thing happens every year, we get tons of such info before the device launches, but this year is especially hectic in this regard. The Galaxy S7 has surfaced in a number of benchmark listings, and is expected to launch during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona next month. That being said, a new Galaxy S7 variant has surfaced on Geekbench, let’s see what’s this all about, shall we.
As already mentioned, the Galaxy S7 has already surfaced in a number of benchmark listings, and this model, in particular, seems to be headed to AT&T (SM-G930A). The Galaxy S7 model numbers associated with US-based carriers have been uncovered a couple of months ago, and we’re here to talk about on in particular, the AT&T one. Now, according to this benchmark the device will ship with 4GB of RAM on the inside, and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC, so this is not the Exynos 8890 variant, which was to be expected considering this is an AT&T model of the device. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is also mentioned in this listing, as it was in previous ones as well. Keep in mind that Samsung will pre-install their custom UI on top of Android though, as always.
Now, this device, in particular, scored 2,282 points in the single-core, and 4,979 points in the multi-core benchmark on Geekbench. This is not bad, but lower than we’ve expected, especially if you compare it to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 reference device which scored 2,320 and 5,369 in a single and multi-core test, respectively. The result is not that far off though, so there’s not need to panic or anything, plus keep in mind that this is probably not the final version of the software, so there’s still room for improvement. As far as other specs go, the device is rumored to feature a 12.2-megapixel camera, and ship with a bigger battery than the one you can find in the Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S7 will reportedly resemble the Galaxy Note 5 quite a bit, so keep that in mind as well, and stay tuned for further info.
