I believe that most of you are quite familiar with Samsung’s flagship devices, the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and the Note 5. Now, this company releases quite a few entry-level and mid-range offerings as part of their ‘Galaxy J’ and ‘Galaxy A’ lineups. The company has introduced the 2nd-gen Galaxy A3, A5, A7 and (a 1st-gen) A9 last year, and we’ve recently seen the Galaxy J5 (2016) visit GFXBench benchmark.
That being said, the Galaxy J7 (2016) has just joined its sibling, and has been listed on GFXBench website. According to this info, the Galaxy J7 (2016) will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone is said to sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter will be placed on the back of the device, and a 5-megapixel snapper will be available up front. Andriod 5.1.1 Lollipop has also been mentioned here, and on top of it, you’ll get Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, as it’s the case with other Galaxy-branded devices.
Now, this Galaxy J7 handset is the second-gen device, the first-gen Galaxy J7 was announced back in June last year, and it sported significantly less RAM than this handset (1.5GB), and a lower-res display (720p). Other than that, the specifications seem to be quite similar, and it is to be expected that the Galaxy J7 (2nd-gen) ships with two SIM card slots. It remains to be seen if this device will sport a metallic design or not, and you can expect the physical home button to be located below the display, as we’re already used to when it comes to Samsung’s handsets. This physical button will almost certainly going to be flanked by two capacitive keys, overview and back, respectively. That is pretty much it, we did get the phone’s specs thanks to this listing, but we still don’t know when will Samsung introduce it. The 1st-gen handset was launched in June, but it seems like the 2nd-gen model might arrive sooner than that. Either way, stay tuned, we’ll let you know as soon as additional info surfaces.
