The ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser, is another of the many variants of the popular Zenfone 2 launched last year at Mobile World Congress. The Zenfone 2 Laser has a pretty important feature though, and that is the laser auto-focus included for the rear-facing camera on this guy. So we still have a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display, along with either the Snapdragon 410 or Snapdragon 615 processor running the show (different models in different markets), as well as 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. And there’s a non-removable 3,000mAh battery inside that is running the show.
Talking about the camera, the laser auto-focus means that the camera is able to focus on items much quicker than a camera without laser auto-focus. We first saw this debut on the LG G3 in 2014, and we’ve seen it come to life on a few other smartphones since then. Also including the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X. While we do have a 13-megapixel camera here on the back of the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser, it still isn’t going to replace your DSLR, although it may replace that point and shoot that you take everywhere you want to get great pictures. We got a chance to go hands on with it at CES 2016 this week, and came away pretty impressed.
