Huawei has become world’s third largest smartphone manufacturer in 2015. This China-based company enjoyed great success last year, but it remains to be seen if they can keep that up in 2016. The competition is fierce, and Huawei will be required to keep up releasing really compelling devices in order to fight off other OEMs. Speaking of which, we’ve already seen all kinds of interesting rumors regarding Huawei-branded products in 2016, and the Huawei P9 rumor is the latest one to arrive. Yesterday’s rumor claimed that the P9 might sport 6GB of RAM, along with Huawei’s Kirin 950 SoC, and that it might launch during CES this month. Well, that still sounds kind of improbable considering the phone is expected to launch in March or April, but we’ll see.
That being said, Huawei has released an official teaser for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, and it seems like the Honor X3 tablet will be announced during the tradeshow. The provided teaser image shows off a device made out of metal, and it contains the ‘ Rhythm x Entertainment’ caption. Now, if we put these two pieces of the puzzle together, it becomes kind of obvious that the Honor X3 tablet is on the way. Now, according to leaked specs (AnTuTu), this tablet might actually sport a 6.2-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display. This seems like an odd screen size for a tablet, but if the leaked benchmarking info is to be believed, that will be the case. The tablet is also expected to ship with 4GB of RAM and Huawei’s Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core SoC will quite probably fuel this device. The 20-megapixel snapper will be located on the back of this tablet, and an 8-megapixel shooter will probably be available up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to come pre-installed on this device, and you’ll find Huawei’s EMUI (Emotion UI) installed on top of it.
Huawei’s teaser says that this device will be announced on January 5th, which means that it will be announced quite soon. We still don’t have any pricing or availability info, but we’ll report back as soon as Huawei makes this device official, stay tuned.
