Huawei Honor 5X To Launch In India On January 28th

Huawei had plenty to say at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. This China-based company has not only introduced a couple of new products, but has announced the expansion of their brand to various markets all around the world. Huawei has announced that their Mate 8 flagship phablet is coming to a plethora of markets soon, and has also introduced the MediaPad M2 tablet, and the GX8 smartphone during the event.

That being said, the company’s Honor sub-brand has also been mentioned several times. The Honor Band Z1 and Honor 5X smartphone will arrive to the U.S. really soon, and it seems like the Honor 5X might arrive to the second largest smartphone market in the near future as well. The company’s Honor-related teaser surfaced carrying the ‘Faster, Better, Stronger’ caption. The teaser also revealed that the phone will arrive on January 28th, which means that Indian consumers might be able to purchase this device before the end of this month.

The Honor 5X is a mid-range offering by Huawei, though it offers really compelling specs. The Honor 5X features a 5.5-inch 1080p (!920 x 1080) IPS LCD display along with 2 / 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter can be found on the back of this handset, and a 5-megapixel snapper is available up front. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 3.1 user interface on top of it. This is a dual-SIM handset (Micro + Nano SIM), and it offers 4G LTE connectivity. The 3,000mAh non-removable battery is available on the inside, and the device comes in White, Black and Gold color options. The phone measures 151.3 x 76.3 x 8.2mm, while it weighs 158 grams. It is also worth mentioning that the Honor 5X sports metallic design, as mentioned in the title.

That is pretty much it. We still don’t know how much will this phone cost in India, but it costs $199 in the U.S., so it will probably sport a similar price tag in India as well. We’ll report back as soon as Huawei officially announces this handset in the country, stay tuned.
