Letv To Announce A Snapdragon 820-Powered Handset Tomorrow

Letv has entered the smartphone world in April last year when the company announced their first handsets. This China-based company has introduced Letv Le 1, Le 1 Pro and Le Max devices. These phones were followed by the Letv Le 1S model which was introduced later in the year, and the company has been teasing their Snapdragon 820-powered device for quite some time now. We were expecting Letv to introduce this phone during CES in Las Vegas this week, and it seems like our presumption were spot on.

This Chinese smartphone OEM has already announced that they’ll make an appearance at CES, in order to announce their arrival to the US market. They’ve kicked off their online store, LeMall, in the US last year, but are selling only accessories in the country for the time being. Letv will announce the arrival of some of their smartphone to the US during CES, and according to the company’s latest teaser, they will also announce the aforementioned Snapdragon 820-powered handset. Letv’s Senior VP has released the teaser, and if you take a look at the image itself, you’ll notice that the date and location are clearly visible. Well, the dial pad on the device reveals that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor, which is not exactly a subtle hint.

Now, considering the rumors and leaks we’ve seen lately, this is quite probably the Letv Le Max Pro we’re looking at here. According to benchmark listings, this phablet will sport a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC, along with an Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. The 21-megapixel shooter will be included on the back of this phone, and a 4-megapixel UltraPixel snapper is said to be available up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will reportedly come pre-installed here with Letv’s custom skin on top of it. This info comes from both GFXBench and AnTuTu, and the latest listing actually revealed that the phone might sport a 6.33-inch display instead of the 5.5-inch one mentioned by the two benchmarking sites. We’ll know everything tomorrow when Letv makes this handset official, stay tuned.
