LG Launches The K10 Mid-Range Smartphone In South Korea

LG Electronics has launched an all-new mid-range smartphone called the K10 in its home market of South Korea. The handset was announced back at the CES 2016 trade show held last week in Las Vegas, Nevada. While another, more affordable handset, called the K7, was also unveiled alongside the K10 at the event last week, there’s no word as to when that that particular device will be launched. As for the K10, the handset will reportedly go on sale in South Korea from the 14th of this month. The smartphone will carry a price-tag of 200,000 Won ($164) in the country, and will be available in two different colors – White and Indigo Black. LG has also announced that an optional ‘Quick View Cover’ for the K10 will be sold separately.

Coming to some of the hardware specs of the K10, the smartphone comes in a number of variants, with its RAM ranging from a paltry 1 GB for the base model to 2 GB for the top-end one. Similarly, storage options will vary between 16 GB and 32 GB depending on the market. The variant that has been launched in South Korea, comes with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. The K10 also comes with a number of different processor options, including a quad-core unit clocked at 1.2 GHz and an octa-core one that’s clocked at 1.14 GHz. There’s also a 3G variant of the device that will be powered by a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz. As for the primary cameras, there will be two different ones on offer – either an 8-megapixel unit or a 13-megapixel one depending on the market.

Coming to some of the hardware that will stay unchanged irrespective, the LG K10 will feature a 5.3-inch In-cell Touch IPS display panel with 2.5D glass, and its front-facing primary camera will be a 5-megapixel unit. There’s also a 2,300 mAh battery, and Android 5.1 Lollipop is pre-installed with LG’s Optimus UI laid on top. Coming to connectivity options, the device supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+/UMTS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and NFC. The K10 measures 146mm x 74.8mm x 8.8mm and weighs 140 grams. The company is expected to launch the smartphone in international markets in coming weeks, but nothing has been disclosed officially just as yet.
