Rumor Says Galaxy S7 Is Galaxy Note 5's Lookalike

Samsung Galaxy S7 has been leaking left and right for the last couple of weeks. We’ve seen quite a few rumors and leaks regarding not only the base Galaxy S7 model, but various allegedly incoming variations, like the Galaxy S7 Edge, for example. That being said, the Galaxy S7 will probably arrive in a couple of variants, both flat screened and curved screened ones, at least according to report. Samsung is, however, expected to announce these phones at the end of February, so there’s still plenty of time before that happens.

While we’re waiting for the company to officially introduce the Galaxy S7, yet another rumor popped up. According to SamMobile’s tipster, the Galaxy S7 will actually resemble the Galaxy Note 5 quite a bit. The source claims that the Galaxy S7 is a smaller variant of the Note 5 as far as the design is concerned, home button shape included. The tipster also said that the camera will protrude on the back of the device, as it does in the current-gen Galaxy S flagship. Now, we’ve seen rumors which claimed that the camera will sit flush with the device, and that the Galaxy S7 will ship with a larger battery unit, but if the camera will indeed protrude on the back of the device that much, perhaps we’re not looking at extra battery juice. This is just a presumption, of course, we still don’t have any concrete info.

Now, we didn’t get any new spec info, but previous rumors have shared Galaxy S7’s alleged specifications. The Galaxy S7 will, reportedly, feature a 5.2-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display along with 4GB of RAM and various internal storage options. The handset will be fueled by either the Exynos 8890 or Snapdragon 820 SoC (two variants will probably be available), and you can expect the device to be made out of metal (unibody design). Force Touch display might be a part of this package, though we’re still not sure, but a physical home button with a built-in fingerprint scanner is a given at this point. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will almost certainly come pre-installed here, and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI will be available on top of it.
