Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Gets Certified By NCC In Taiwan

It seems like Samsung will unveil new Galaxy S7 handsets during MWC in Barcelona at the end of next month. The company will almost certainly going to introduce the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, according to latest reports, and the Galaxy S7 Edge+ might be a part of the mix as well. That being said, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have both been benchmarked by AnTuTu lately, while the Galaxy S7 also surfaced on Geekbench earlier today.

That being said, a new piece of the puzzle has just surfaced. The Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935FD) has been certified by Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC), at least according to the report. According to the available info, the phone has been certified on January 15th, and it is said that the 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth and Wireless Charging were all mentioned in the document itself. Galaxy S7 leaks have been popping up quite frequently lately, and we’ll sure see more leaked materials before the phone actually gets announced, we’re still about a month away.

According to benchmark listings, and various rumors, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will once again feature rather similar specs. The devices will reportedly ship with a 5.2-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) displays, 4GB of RAM and various internal storage options. Both the Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820 SoC variants will reportedly going to be available, and the phone will resemble the Galaxy Note 5 quite a bit, if the recent report is to be believed. The device will be made out of metal and glass yet again, and you can expect the physical home button to be located below the display once again, along with a fingerprint scanner. Interestingly enough, the 12.2-megapixel camera (BRITECELL tech?) will probably going to be included on the back of the Galaxy S7, both the rumors and benchmark listings agree when it comes to that. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on Samsung’s upcoming flagship, and the company’s TouchWiz UI will be available on top of it. That’s pretty much it, stay tuned for further Galaxy S7 (Edge) coverage, more content will surely follow soon.
