LG released some very powerful devices last year, the LG G4 integrates one of the most powerful cameras, it features f/1.8 aperture to capture sharp photos in almost any lighting condition and it offers several manual adjustments to capture the desired picture. Additionally, this flagship offered many customizable backs including several colors and materials such as leather, which is not a common material in smartphones. Another feature is its design with a subtlety curved display to improve the phone’s ergonomics. Finally, LG phones seem to be the only ones that still feature a removable battery and a microSD card slot for additional storage.
Since the LG G4 was introduced in April, its successor (possibly called LG G5) might launch quite soon. We’ve heard many rumors about the new handset and we’ve even seen some pictures that allegedly depict the device. LG could use a metallic unibody for the first time on the LG G5 and they could relocate the iconic back volume and power buttons to the sides. The main camera module could use a dual-camera setup with laser autofocus once again. Jermaine Smit, who is famous for making conceptual renders of upcoming smartphones has made an animated video of the LG G5. The way he envisions the device looks nothing like the way the LG G5 looks in the leaked images, but he keeps some elements from the LG G4.
Smit’s LG G5 would still feature a curved design with a slightly curved screen and the metallic back plate would be removable, so the battery could be user replaceable and the microSD card slot could be underneath as well. He specifies that the sensor of the front-facing camera should be 8-megapixels, and selfies could be enhanced with some of LG’s technologies. There would be a 20-megapixel camera on the back with f/1.8 aperture and it would be capable of recording Full HD video at 120 fps and 4K video at 60 fps. The front looks quite clean with narrow bezels and the LG logo at the bottom. The back features the camera module with the laser and flash modules, plus the volume buttons and power button. The phone looks like it’s build with plastic, as the black part at the top would probably house the antennas.
