Vivo XPlay 5S Might Ship With 6GB Of RAM On The Inside

We haven’t heard much from Vivo lately, but the company’s 6s Plus handset did get certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) yesterday. The Vivo 6s Plus actually packs in really interesting hardware, not only does it sport 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storag.e but it also has a 16-megapixel camera on the back, and is powered by an octa-core SoC running at 1.8GHz. The Vivo 6s Plus might be an interesting device, but if the latest rumor is to believed, Vivo is planning to release an ever higher-end handset, read on.

According to a China-based analyst, Pan Jiutang, Vivo XPlay 5S might actually ship with 6GB of RAM on the inside. Unfortunately, we still don’t know when this device might launch, as the analyst didn’t provide a timeframe of any kind. Now, we’d assume that the launch of this device is still quite a bit off, but we’ll see. The Vivo XPlay 5S will be a direct successor to the XPlay 3S which was announced back in 2013. That handset was actually extremely well-specced back then, it sported the Snapdragon 801 SoC, 6-inch QHD display, 3GB of RAM, etc. So, the Vivo XPlay 5S will quite probably be the company’s new flagship, and at this point we can only guess what will its specs look like. Aside from 6GB of RAM, it is to be expected that Vivo will include a true flagship SoC in here, while the phone will probably be made out of metal. You can also expect it to sport a 6-inch QHD display once Vivo releases it, and we’ll see if the company plans to stick to capacitive buttons, or will they introduce on-screen ones. Android 5.1 Lollipop or 6.0 Marshmallow ill come pre-installed here, and Vivo’s custom UI will be available on top of it.

That is pretty much it as far as Vivo Play 5S is concerned. The information is quite scarce at the moment, but we’re sure additional rumors / leaks will clear things up really soon. This device is expected to hit the market this year, but we still don’t know when, we’ll keep you posted though, stay tuned.
