Xiaomi Mi 5 info has been leaking non-stop for weeks now. The company’s executive already confirmed that the device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820, and that it will launch after the Chinese New Year, which essentially means we won’t see it launch before February 20th. We’ll talk about previous leaks in a minute, but let’s first tackle a new piece of which just surfaced in China, shall we.
It seems like Xiaomi held a meeting / presentation yesterday in order to finalize the details regarding Mi 5’s launch. Thanks to some images from that presentation, we now know that the event will be held at the National Convention Center in Beijing, and we even know that it will be held on the 4th floor of that building. Xiaomi intends on having around 1,000 guests at the event, and 600 of them will be from the media. In addition to all this, the presentation has revealed that he conference will last from 2PM to 4PM CST, which means that we’ll get a really long presentation this time around. The duration of this conference might indicate that Xiaomi plans to announce additional products next to the Mi 5, though it is possible that they intend on introducing two Mi 5 version separately, or something like that. Keep in mind that the presentation document did not confirm the exact date when the conference will be held, unfortunately.
We still don’t have all the details when it comes to the Mi 5, but if the previously leaked info is to be believed, Xiaomi is preparing to launch two somewhat different version of the Mi 5. The standard variant is said to sport a 3GB of RAM, 1080p display, and a metallic frame which will be placed between two sheets of glass. The 2.5D curved glass will be used on the front side, allegedly. The higher-end model will reportedly going to sport a QHD panel, 4GB of RAM and will be made out of metal. That being said, both of these devices are rumored to sport 5.1-inch panels, and will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 processor, along with an Adreno 530 GPU. Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to ship out of the box, and Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 OS will be placed on top of it. As already mentioned, none of these details are yet confirmed, so take this info with a grain of salt.
