Xiaomi Mi 5 leaks just keep on coming. We’ve seen tons of rumors and leaks when it comes to Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship which will be announced next month. Xiaomi’s exec has confirmed that the phone will land in February after the Chinese New Year, and that it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC. A while back, a rumor surfaced saying that the device will ship in two variants, two variants that will differentiate. Well, a new rumor surfaced, and it more or less confirms the info that surfaced earlier.
According to the newly leaked info, the Mi 5 will, indeed, ship in two variants. The standard Mi 5 will sport 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a 1080p (1920 x 1080) display. In addition to these specs, the phone will also come with a curved glass display, and will sport a metallic frame which will be placed in-between two sheets of glass. The higher end model, on the other hand, will come with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and a QHD display. Now, both of these variants will sport a 5.2-inch panels, and will be fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC, along with an Adreno 530 GPU. The 20-megapixel camera is said to be located on the back fo the Mi 5 (although the 16-megapixel shooter has also been mentioned), and an 8-megapixel snapper will be available up front. The 3,600mAh battery will also be a part of this package, and the same can be said for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. Qualcomm’s Sense ID fingerprint scanner has also been rumored, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come out of the box with Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 OS which will be installed on top of Google’s operating system.
That being said, we’ve seen quite a few alleged Mi 5 images roaming around the internet, and now another one has popped up. If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll get to see a similar design that was shared in recently leaked renders. The home button seems to be available here, and the display seems to be curved. This might be the standard variant of the device, if the aforementioned information is correct. Xiaomi’s logo will be placed in the upper left corner of the device’s front side, and the 3.5mm headphone jack will be placed above it, on the top part of the device. There are also two additional images in the gallery down below which reportedly showcase Xiaomi Mi 5’s charger.
