1Password Adds new Family Plan for $5 Per Month

1Password, one of the leaders in password management have announced their own family plan. This new family plan will work with up to 5 users, and will cost you $5 per month. Not a bad price at all, considering that 1Password works on virtually every platform from Android to Windows to iOS to OS X. 1Password is part of a number of password manager apps on Android that have added support for Google’s fingerprint API. This means that you can easily log into 1Password using your fingerprint and then use it to fill in logins for apps and websites, instead of having to use your long and complicated password each time. Making things much more simpler.

The way this works is a member buys the license for 1Password, which will be $5 per month. Then they can set up their Family group and invite other members on into the group. This way they don’t have to pay for 1Password, as they are part of the family group. And as mentioned above, it does work on most platforms. It’s rather simple to set up, and is based off of 1Password’s Teams infrastructure. So you can manage the accounts of other users. Great for sharing accounts, like Netflix or even Google Play Music. With this new feature, 1Password is also offering the first month free to encourage new sign ups. Additionally, if you sign up before March 21st you can get a $10 credit which would give you 2 months free. Not a bad way to check out 1Password before committing to buying the license to use. In addition to the $10 credit, 1Password is also offering up to 2GB of secure storage, that’s double the normal allotted amount. There is also the ability to add an additional two family members, making the total 7 for just $5.

1Password may not be the cheapest password manager out there, but it does work pretty darn well. LastPass is a bit cheaper at $1/month or $12/year, however it doesn’t yet have a Family plan. That might change in the near future, though. As family plans are beginning to become pretty popular. With Apple Music and Google Play Music already adding them in.
