ARCHOS Announce Three New Oxygen Tablets, Priced From £75

With MWC approaching, there will be a number of announcements of new products coming through. However, a few companies including LG, have been releasing information prior to MWC and detailing some of the products which they plan to show off during the event. ARCHOS is another company who has been providing early information on what devices they will be launching at MWC and last week confirmed the MWC introduction of a new Oxygen smartphone, the ARCHOS 50d Oxygen. Following which, the company has also today announced that three new tablets will be on show at MWC.

Like the latest smartphone, the new tablets are also members of the Oxygen family and come in the form of the ARCHOS 70 Oxygen, 80 Oxygen and 101b Oxygen. As to be expected, the names are directly related to the screen size with the 70 Oxygen adopting a 7-inch size, the 80 Oxygen adopting an 8-inch size and the 101b Oxygen adopting a 10.1-inch display size. Both the 7 and 8-inch variants will sport a 1920 x 1200 resolution, while the 10.1 model is said to come sporting a 1920 x 1280 resolution. Most of the rest of the specs are common to all three models and as such, they will all come sporting 2GB RAM and by powered by a MediaTek (MTK8163) Quad-core processor (clocking at 1.3 GHz). All three will also come sporting 16GB internal storage, with no mention of whether expandable storage will be on offer. In terms of cameras, all models will sport a 5-megapixel rear camera, which will be coupled with a 2-megapixel front facing camera and all three will also come running on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box. Battery capacities do differ though, with the 70 Oxygen sporting a 3,000 mAh battery, the 80 Oxygen sporting a 4,500 mAh battery and the 101b Oxygen sporting a 6,000 mAh battery.

In terms of pricing and availability, the ARCHOS 70 Oxygen will be available for $75, the 80 Oxygen will cost $99.99 and the 101b Oxygen will be priced at £119. All three models are said to become available in May of this year, although details on specific regional availability has not been provided at this time. As already mentioned, all three will be on show at MWC next week.
