ARCHOS is a company who brings to market a number of devices each year and last year was no different. In fact, in the run up to MWC last year, ARCHOS officially unveiled four new smartphones which were due to be on show during the event, including at the time, their latest addition to the Oxygen line of devices. Later on in the year, ARCHOS also announced the latest addition to their Helium line in the form of the ARCHOS 50d Helium. Now, in the run up to this year’s MWC event, ARCHOS has announced their newest smartphone, which following in the Helium range of smartphones, sees the ARCHOS 50d Oxygen variant being announced.
In terms of the specs, the ARCHOS 50d Oxygen is a smartphone which will make use of a 5-inch display along with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Inside, the 50d Oxygen will come equipped with 2GB RAM and will be powered by a MediaTek (MT6753) Octa-core processor which clocks at 1.3 GHz. In terms of storage the 50d Oxygen will come equipped with 16GB internal storage and will also offer the option to expand, thanks to the inclusion of a microSD card slot (up to 32GB). While in terms of cameras, the 50d Oxygen will come loaded with a 13-megapixel rear camera which is coupled with a 5-megapixel front facing option. The 50d Oxygen will come powered by a 2,100 mAh battery and will also come running on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box.
As mentioned, it is now largely expected that the 50d Oxygen will be more officially debuted during MWC which is due to take place in the next few weeks. However for those looking to pick up the smartphone, they will have to wait until May before the 50d Oxygen becomes widely available. In terms of price, the 50d Oxygen is scheduled to be available for £129.99 at launch. However, ARCHOS has yet to make any formal confirmation of where the 50d Oxygen will be available regionally, with no firm details on U.S. pricing or availability currently being confirmed. With most details likely to be announced in the next few weeks and namely at MWC 2016.
