There are over 1.6 million apps available in the Google Play Store, so as you can imagine, there are apps for just about everything. And that includes being productive. Whether that’s editing a document, doing some research for a product you want to buy, or making a to-do list. There are tons of productivity apps on the Google Play Store. We’ve gathered the top 10 best worth checking out.
Pushbullet
This is an interesting one. Pushbullet allows you to push items from your desktop to your smartphone or tablet and vice versa. Whether that’s a file, picture or even just a webpage. It makes everything so much easier, when you’re away from your computer. Pushbullet is a free app, but there are some premium features that will cost you $40 per year or $5/month.
Do Button by IFTTT
IFTTT (If This Then That) is a great automation service that supports tons of services. Their Do Button app is fantastic. You can set up a recipe to turn off your lights when you hit that DO button on your smartphone. Or have it set your Nest Thermostat to 70-degrees automatically. There are tons of different recipes you can use there, and they all work fantastic, not to mention they save a ton of time for you.
Trello
A project management app here, Trello is great for keeping you on task and keeping up with all the projects you and your team might be working on. It’s one of the best apps out there for a team to use. As you can see real-time what’s going on, without having to wait for an email from someone.
Google Keep
This is Google’s own note-taking app, but it does much more than that. With Google Keep, you can quickly make reminders, as well as lists. Great for those that need a list before going grocery shopping so they don’t forget anything. It syncs seamlessly with the iOS version of Keep as well as the web-version and is completely free. You can include pictures, screenshots and even add voice memos in notes in Keep.
Dropbox
Just one of the many cloud storage solutions that are available out there, Dropbox is great for storing pictures (thanks to its auto-upload feature) but also for sharing files with other members of your team and even co-workers. Dropbox gives you 2GB of storage for free, but by referring others and doing various other things, you can bump that up to 20GB for free.
Microsoft Word
Just part of the Microsoft Office Suite that’s available on Android (PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote are also available). This app allows you to quickly edit and/or view Word documents on your smartphone or tablet. You can also print wirelessly to your Apple AirPrint or Google Cloud Print printer. making things much easier when on the go, or just in a rush.
Todoist
One of the more popular to-do list apps around. Todoist offers a pretty robust interface for making to-do lists and getting stuff done. It is free, although there is a premium version that will cost you $19.99/year. Todoist allows you to create items that need to be done and remind you at a certain time. As well as creating items that need to be done daily, weekly and monthly. Todoist is available on tons of platforms – both mobile and desktop – which sync seamlessly.
Evernote
Another great note-taking app here, Evernote, much like many of the other apps here Evernote can sync seamlessly across various platforms. Evernote also gives you the ability to add videos, audio notes and much more to your notes and notebooks. It’s organization process is one of the best around as well. Allowing you to keep certain notes together and separate from others.
Google Drive
By default, every Google user gets 15GB of storage across Google Drive, Photos and Gmail (that’s 5GB for each one). With Google Drive, you can upload any file you want, with Google Docs there is no limit on the amount of files you can have as they don’t count against your quota. Drive makes things simple for sharing them with other people, or just sharing a document on the web for anyone to view.
Today Calendar
Not everyone likes Google’s Calendar by default. For Mobile, we have loads of alternatives that still uses Google Calendar. One of those is Today Calendar, which is a great looking calendar app that also has a fantastic widget to go with it. It offers the ability to view all of your appointments in one screen, even in a month time frame. It’s material design and just looks fabulous and works pretty darn well.
