Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge Available to Pre-Order on T-Mobile

It’s that time of year again, where all of the big names in the mobile world jet over to Barcelona, Spain to announce their latest and greatest smartphones and tablets. For Samsung, that meant following up last year’s successful Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge duo of devices. Announced on Sunday, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were unleashed onto the world. predictably, both devices are much like last year’s, but rather than sit on their hands waiting 12 months, Samsung made some subtle and important changes. In what has to be one of the more impressive launches from a smartphone brand, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 line are already up for pre-order in North America, and will hit people towards the second week of March.

Those subtle improvements include the return of the microSD card slot, the return of IP68 water resistance and an improvement in battery life as well. This should come as good news for those that are ending a contract on a Galaxy S5 or looked over the Galaxy S6 for not having those two Samsung staple features. It’s now available for pre-order from T-Mobile in the US. The Galaxy S7 will cost $669.99 outright, or $27.92 a month for 24 months (not counting your service plan). The Galaxy S7 Edge meanwhile – which sports a larger 5.5-inch display this time around – will come in at $779.99 outright, or $32.50 a month for 24 months, again not counting your service plan. Both of these include a free Gear VR headset, which normally retails for $99, and six different VR games as well as a year’s worth of Netflix, which is an exclusive offer for T-Mobile purchasers.

It’s nice to see Samsung getting the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge available so soon after they made the initial announcement. While these new devices are certainly not cheap, they now come with some extra features compared to last year’s models, and on T-Mobile users will be able to get unlimited data and possibly some of the best pricing around where their service plans are concerned.
