Decent photo editing apps aren’t that hard to find on Android these days, but there are a few that set themselves apart from the rest to be placed somewhat in a league of their own. Google’s Snapseed is one of those photo editing apps which offers up so much for the user and still manages to pull everything off quite well. Google has just recently started pushing out a new update to the application which attempts to making things more convenient for users. While convenience doesn’t necessarily mean things have to be set on auto, that’s exactly what Google has done here with a few of the changes in this latest Snapseed update.
For users who are fond of the Lens Blur feature inside of the app, Google has introduced an auto function which allows users to take photos have the app center the lens blur on portraits automatically. This might not be a necessary function to have, but it certainly takes a little bit of hassle out of the equation for those that use it often enough and could make a big different to those users. Beyond the auto center for lens blur, Snapseed also now allows for the rotation to straighten on the horizon automatically, and Snapseed now (at least for iOS users) lets you directly share finished photos to the Instagram app from inside the Snapseed app.
Google notes that there have also been a number of bug fixes and improvements to this latest version of Snapseed that users will want to look out for, like the improved capability to save edits on the Android version of the application. In addition to everything else mentioned above, Snapseed can also be installed on external SD cards and used from there as opposed to having to keep it installed on internal phone storage. That last feature won’t affect everyone as not all users have SD card support on their devices, but for those that do and have little space to spare this is sure to be a nice inclusion.
