The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets have been popping up left and right recently. These two phones will get announced on February 21st during Samsung’s Unpacked event at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. These two devices have surfaced in several renders thus far, and by the looks of it, they’ll resemble Samsung’s 2015 flagship line of devices. We’ll talk more about the specs later on, let’s first tackle this new piece of news, shall we.
If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll notice that two new Galaxy S7 Edge renders popped up. This time around we get to see the device in Grey color, and these renders actually give us a pretty good look at the phone. Judging by this, the Galaxy S7 Edge will definitely resemble its predecessor, which is not necessarily a bad thing, of course. You can clearly see multitask / overview and back capacitive buttons here, and also the physical home key which is placed in-between them. The fingerprint scanner will almost certainly going to be built into that home button, and the renders also show that the volume rocker keys will be placed on the left-hand side of the Galaxy S7 Edge, which means the power / lock key is included on the opposite side. These renders don’t exactly show us the back of the Galaxy S7 Edge, but some previous ones did.
The Galaxy S7 Edge will, according to the available info, sport a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display. This handset will also pack in 4GB of RAM and will be available in several internal storage variants. The Galaxy S7 Edge will quite probably ship in both Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820 SoC variants, and its availability will vary depending on where you live. The 3,600mAh battery will be included on the inside, at least according to FCC’s latest listing. The 12.2-megapixel BRITECELL camera has been mentioned several times thus far, but so has Sony’s 23-megapixel snapper which was used in the company’s Xperia Z5 line of devices. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come out of the box here, and on top of it, you can expect to see Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
