Huawei is known for quite a few devices these days with smartphones and tablets manufactured for both their own market and other countries overseas, as well as now in the U.S. with devices like the Nexus 6P and the recently launched Honor 5X. A recent image leak of what appears to be of a press render of brand new Huawei tablet called the MediaPad T2 Pro has surfaced, alongside a listing of a few specifications and a user interface that is clearly Android underneath Huawei’s EMUI. The tablet has been displayed on Twitter by Evan Blass (formerly @evleaks) who has been known by many in the tech industry for leaking pictures and details about upcoming devices.
The Huawei MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro is listed as carrying a 10.1-inch Full HD display, and although there are no details listed about which version of Android it’s running based on the picture it would seem to be at least Android Lollipop. Blass also states that the MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro comes equipped with a 6600mAh battery and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. It also carries 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage with the ability to expand on that 16GB via a microSD card should you need more space.
The tablet is also said to support LTE as well as WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, which could mean there will be two versions of the tablet, one that is WiFi only and one that is both WiFi and LTE, or it could come as just a single WiFi and LTE enabled device. It’s also listed as having support for Bluetooth 4.1, and coming with a 2MP front-facing camera as well as an 8MP rear-facing camera. The MediaPad T2 1.0 Pro doesn’t look too much different from Huawei’s MediaPad M2 10 that was shown off earlier this year at CES, which also received FCC certification at the end of last month. In regards to the MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro, there’s no word on pricing or availability, nor is there any information that suggests a possible launch date for the device. The MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro may or may not get an announcement at Mobile World Congress next week, but it is entirely possible that Huawei could have it on display to show off to event goers.
