Latest LG G5 Concept Unlike Other Leaks

With Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 almost upon us, we are seeing concepts and leaks of just about every new device expected to be announced at the event – especially when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 models.  This latest concept is one for the LG G5 from designer Vuk Nemanja Zoraja and is unlike other leaks or concepts we have recently seen.  This design draws your eyes to a strong metal edge encompassing the entire device.  From the front, we can see extremely small bezels on either side of the display.  On the back, we notice a glass ‘protector’ of some sort covering the camera area, which is a horizontal oval, to prevent scratching the lens – possibly some sort of sapphire?  We also see the on/off and volume switch directly below the camera area, perpendicular to it in its own ‘pill’ shape design.  This design concept also brings back the leather stitched backing in multiple colors and they certainly add a touch of elegance to the LG G5, as it did with the LG G4.

LG is pulling out all of the stops for MWC 2016 and are claiming to announce a “major smartphone” so that the announcement will go head-to-head with Samsung’s Galaxy S7 – they have already sent out the invites.  Stories are rising up that it will be nothing like the LG G3 or G4 – is it leaning more toward the LG V10?  Some rumors have it as an all-metal design like the LG V10.  According to another source, the LG G5 will sport a 5.6-inch QHD display with a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440.  The brains will be the new 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 along with an Adreno 530 GPU to handle the graphics end.  There may be a 16MP and an 8MP on the back of the LG G5 for changing the field of focus, while the front-facing camera (FFC) with be an 8MP for selfies and video chats. This concept shows a Type-C USB port on the bottom of the device as well as a speaker with a thickness of 8.2mm. Whatever shape the LG G5 ends up taking, this MWC show in February should prove to be quite exciting for us tech enthusiasts.
