Honor 5X has originally been announced back in November last year. This is Huawei’s mid-range offering to the market, and despite its quite affordable price tag, this device has plenty to offer. The Honor 5X sales have been proceeding as planned for the company, and this device has been showcased during CES in Las Vegas to the general public as well. This mid-ranger is currently available in the US, while it will be available in Europe soon (February 4th), and the company has just announced that the phone is rolling out to India as well, read on.
Just to make things clear, this handset comes from Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand, and that company has decided to announce its availability in India. The phone is now available for purchase on both Flipkart and Amazon, and it seems like quite a few people showed interest already. The device can be purchased for Rs. 12,999 in the country, and you can even exchange your old smartphone and get up to Rs. 7,000 off when purchasing the Honor 5X. Honor has managed to sell over 10 million Honor 4X units globally, and they’re expecting to see even better results with its successor, the Honor 5X.
“Honor 5X is a no-nonsense smartphone that delivers all the essentials want from a smartphone. It bundles in high-quality metal construction, next-generation fingerprint technology and inspired-design for the most unique technology experience, all at an affordable price. The Honor 5X embodies the philosophy and mission to enable superior mobile internet experiences for the internet generation and is a perfect choice for the creatively inclined. We are looking forward to a great response for the Honor 5X,” said P. Sanjeev, Vice President of Sales at Huawei India.
The Honor 5X features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) IPS display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. Keep in mind that the 3GB variant also exists, but is not up for sale in India. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 616 64-bit octa-core SoC, along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter (Sony / Samsung sensor, f/2.0 aperture) is placed on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel snapper (f/2.4 aperture, 22mm wide-angle lens, 1.4-micron pixel size) can be found up front. The 3,000mAh non-removable battery is also a part of this package, and so is the fingerprint scanner which is placed on the back of this phone. This is a dual-SIM handset, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 3.1 Lite user interface installed on top of it. The Honor 5X is made out of metal, just in case you didn’t notice. The device measures 151.3 x 76.3 x 8.15mm, while it weighs 158 grams.
