Oppo is a Chinese smartphone manufacturing company many of you probably heard of by now. They’ve introduced quite a few phones to date, and the Oppo F1 is their latest offering. This company is actually also present at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, and Oppo actually just announced something very interesting. The company has been teasing the arrival of next-gen VOOC Flash Charge technology the other day, and the company has just introduced it, read on.
Oppo’s new tech is called ‘VOOC Super Flash Charge’, and believe it or not, it can charge up a smartphone from 0% to 100% in just 15 minutes. Now, keep in mind that this applies to smartphones with 2,500mAh batteries, the ones which sport bigger units will take more to charge, of course. In comparison, it takes VOOC Super Flash Charge only 5 minutes to charge up the 1,200mAh battery. Now, the original VOOC Flash Charge tech offered extremely fast charging times, one of the fastest on the market (if not the fastest), and the next-gen VOOC charging tech is a huge improvement it seems. “It is achieved by applying a newly developed low-voltage pulse-charge algorithm, along with OPPO’s customized battery, multiple technical innovations, as well as first-class hardware and software,” said Oppo.
How did Oppo manage to pull this off? Well, first and foremost, you’ll need Oppo’s customized battery which dynamically regulates the current, which in the end ensures safe and sustainable charging experience, and prevents overheating, at least according to Oppo. In addition to that, you’ll also get Oppo’s Super VOOC Flash Charge adapter with future devices which will offer such technology, and in addition to the charging brick, you’ll get the new cable, and a connector with premium and reliable military grade material, said Oppo. Now, Oppo has also mentioned that this tech supports not only USB Type-C, but Micro USB connection as well.
The VOOC Super Flash Charge charging voltage is actually in line with the standard charging voltage (5V), and the power can be directly transmitted to the battery without voltage conversion, which means that the charging efficiency will be around 97% at all times. Oppo says that a temperature of a smartphone using their VOOC Flash Charge tech remains quite a bit lower during the charging process, compared to devices using a high-voltage charging solution. That’s more or less it, as soon as get more info when it comes to VOOC Super Flash Charge, we’ll make sure to let you know.
