Oppo To Release Next-Gen VOOC Flash Charge Tech At MWC

Oppo is a China-based company which is quite popular in Asia, but not many people have heard of it outside of that continent. Either way, Oppo has released some rather interesting devices thus far, their Oppo N1 and N3 devices sport interesting rotating camera sensors up top, and the company’s mid-range units are also rather well-built and what not. The company has introduced the Oppo F1 last month, and the Oppo A30 has been listed on Oppo’s site quite recently as well.

That being said, most of Oppo’s handset ship with what the company calls ‘VOOC Flash Charge‘. This is essentially a fast charging feature which lets their phones charge up extremely fast. We’ve talked about VOOC plenty of times thus far, and Oppo has even decided to show us how fast VOOC is in April last year. The company has decided to test their N3 flagship against Galaxy S6, iPhone 6 Plus and the Nexus 6. Oppo’s device prevailed by quite a margin, and it seems like the company is planning to introduce the next-gen VOOC technology at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The company has released a rather revealing teaser through their official Weibo (Chinese social network) page, and as you can see, the image is quite revealing. ‘Wow the world!’ caption is actually included here, but also the icon which clearly suggests a fast charging tech, not to mention several such rumors surfaced in China already. VOOC is now capable of making your phone’s battery charge from 0% up to 75% in only 30 minutes, which suggests that Oppo is either aiming to bring a new wired charging solution or perhaps they intend on introducing wireless tech this time around? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but a wireless VOOC charging tech would defintiely be something interesting, especially if it’s as fast as regular VOOC is.

Now, if you’re interested in seeing what comes out of this, keep in mind that Oppo’s press conference is scheduled for February 23rd, and we’ll make sure to report back as soon as Oppo releases the news, stay tuned for that.
